• What is Hottywood?

  Hottywood is a website about movies and passions. Unlike other movie websites such as IMDb or Flixster, Hottywood has a specific focus on hot scenes. Although a good movie never depends its success on hot scenes, we believe that hot scenes can just make a good movie twice as good.

• Why did you build Hottywood?

  The idea of building Hottywood emerged after I spent 2 hours watching a film which had neither an attractive story nor hot scenes. We all expect to be amused when watching a film. If it is not interesting, it should at least be hot.

  There are lots of movie websites where you can find out whether, in general, a movie is good or not. But unfortunately, there is hardly any website that tells you whether a movie is hot or not. Hottywood tries to do such a job for you. I hope you will find it interesting and useful.

• How do you define "a hot scene"?

  Hottywood itself does not judge if a scene is hot or not. That's up to our users. For every scene added to Hottywood, you can find out how many users confirmed it to be hot, how many users disproved that, and you are free to express your own opinion. No one can prevent your from thinking that Audrey Hepburn's movies are hot, but I am afraid there won't be many people that support you.

Questions about account

• How do I sign in / sign up?

  You can use your Google account to sign in by clicking the "Sign in" link on the top-right of each page. If you do not have a Google account yet, you can create a new one for free on the sign-in page.

• Why (and how) do you use my Google account?

  Hottywood is based on Google App Engine, via which we can authenticate users with Google Accounts. Hottywood does not have its own account management system, because: 1) I do not like to re-invent the wheel and write useless code; and 2) I hate to sign up and have hundreds of accounts, each for a different website, and I believe that you do too.

  All the information that Hottywood can get from your Google account is your nickname and your email address. Hottywood does NOT spam. No email will be sent to you without your explicit permission. Also, Hottywood will NOT give publicity to your email address anywhere. I promise, seriously.
